Where can I go cross country skiing in Jackson?
- Teton Pines
Four miles south of Teton Village along the Moose-Wilson Road, Teton Pines offers a groomed track for skate and classic skiing that meanders throughout its snow-covered golf course. Rentals, gear, and lessons are available on site. Trail pass: $15/Adult. - Shooting Star
Just south of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Shooting Star has 15 km of groomed track, great for skate and classic nordic skiing. There is even a short dog friendly loop. Day pass: $35. - Turpin Meadow Ranch
Located just 45 miles north of Jackson, Turpin Meadow Ranch Touring Center has over 10km of groomed trails. Enjoy gentle to advanced terrain & breathtaking views. Warm up by the fireplace or with a gourmet meal at the Lodge. Nordic ski rentals & luxury lodging available. Trail pass: $15/adult. - Cache Creek
On the eastern edge of town, Cache Creek Trailhead is a hub for winter and summer activities. Many cross country skiers (and dog owners) head to Cache Creek Trail for exercise. - Emily's Pond
On the east side of the Wilson Bridge over the Snake River, Emily's Pond is a great area to embark on an afternoon of nordic or skate skiing. The wide trail will be obvious as it goes north along the river bank. - Grand Teton National Park
From Taggart Lake Trailhead, Grand Teton National Park grooms a section of road that runs all the way to Signal Mountain. An ideal turn around point is to go to Jenny Lake and back. $10 day use fee. - Grand Targhee
Grand Targhee Resort in Alta maintains 15km of groomed nordic track through Ricks Basin and Quakie Ridge. Adult Daily Trail Ticket: $10. - Teton Canyon
Before you head up to Grand Targhee, turn right and park at the entrance to Teton Canyon. This groomed road offers 12km of nordic skiing.
Where can I rent cross country skis?
There are a number of shops in town, the Village, Driggs, and at Grand Targhee that will rent either classic or skate ski set ups. Rentals are usually very reasonably priced as well.
