Why should I drive the Signal Mountain Road?
Climb over 1,000 feet as you drive up Signal Mountain Road's five miles of switchbacks for great views of the Teton Range, Jackson Lake, and the Snake River. At the top parking area, hike up a very short trail to the overlook and check out the views. Not recommended for trailers due to the hairpin turns.
If you don't want to drive to the top, park your car at the bottom and hike up. There is a nice loop trail that meets up with the top parking area.
Where does Signal Mountain Road begin and end?
Signal Mountain Road is accessible on the right hand side of the road just before the turnoff to Signal Mountain Lodge, which sits on the south eastern banks of Jackson Lake. From Jackson, Wyoming, drive north to the Moose Junction and take the inner park road north to Signal Mountain. It's an out and back road so you end right where you begin.
How long does it take to drive?
It's 10 miles round trip. Plan on about 30 minutes to drive up, check it out, and drive back down.
